The celebration will begin with a rehearsal dinner at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove on Friday evening. The wedding ceremony will be held on the historic Cannery Row in Monterey, California on Saturday evening. We encourage guests to spend time exploring the natural, cultural, and recreational gems that this area has to offer.

Rehearsal Dinner All guests are also invited to the Rehearsal Dinner which will take place at the Asilomar Conference Center, a magnificent architectural treasure created by Julia Morgan. The Rehearsal Dinner will take place on July 24, 2009 at 6pm in the Fred Farr Forum. Invitations and RSVPs will be forthcoming. |
| Lodging We have secured a limited number of rooms for $148/night at the Asilomar Conference Center for our wedding guests - the same location as the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening. To reserve a room at Asilomar, call (831) 642-4213 and identify yourself as part of the "Goode/Sydes Wedding". Rooms are reserved for our wedding guests until June 25, 2009 or until the number of rooms are reserved, whichever occurs first. (Technophiles Beware: This hotel offers a retreat-like experience and has no televisions or phones in the guest rooms, but does offer a recreation room with ping pong, wireless internet, swimming pool, etc.) Another option for folks is to stay at the Clement Intercontinental (ceremony location) but there are no special room rates available. You can reserve on the Clement website or at (831)375-4500. We also recommend Lighthouse Lodge and Suites in Pacific Grove, for reasonable room rates with fireplaces and options for suites. Reaching Monterey by Airplane The Monterey Peninsula has a small public airport, the Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY). Alternatively, San Jose International Airport (SJC) is located 70 miles north of Monterey, and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located 110 miles north of Monterey. |
| WeatherThe summer months in Monterey are characterized by foggy mornings which often (but not always) clear up in the afternoons. Rain is unusual this time of year. We recommend dressing in layers, and remind you that the while wedding ceremony takes place outside, the rehearsal dinner and reception are held inside.
